In lieu of actual words…

…here are some pictures to summarize a typical day when I work nights.

The monitor alerts us of a blue light special (or cleanup in aisle 6, whichever)

Try not to spill when pouring bottles without your glasses or contacts.

Caleb sleeps on his tummy now! Wyatt’s half asleep, but sitting up unsure if he wants to be awake or not.

Too cool for a picture at breakfast I guess.

Less picture taking and more Cheerios, lady.

Mr. C’s favorite sound right now is Ooohhhh.

Wy-Guy flexin’ his muscles.

The play area (aka the background of every single picture I take)

Wyatt makes music while I’m chugging coffee.

Dozens of buttons, but it’s usually a fight over the toy laptop.

Book with Wyatt while Caleb tries to nap

But Caleb doesn’t want to nap! Waiting for the therapist to come.

Do these stretches make my feet look fat?

Watch out! I’m learning to stand!

All done therapy! Pack ’em up and off to daycare!

It’s all snoozeworthy stuff from here… doctor’s appointment, cleaning the house, exercising, laundry… blah… blah… blah, work, home at 11, then BED! Meanwhile Shane works, then picks up the boys, play time, more stretches for Caleb, dinner for the boys, baths for the boys, jammies, books, BED! See you on the weekend, Shane!

Rinse & repeat all week, every other week. It’s complicated but somehow it works out!

I'm a working mom of three fantastic boys: Caleb, Wyatt and Parker. My husband, Shane, and I live in the Washington DC suburbs where we enjoy playgrounds, pools and never getting to sleep in. This blog is a journal of our day-to-day lives as well as a chronicle of Caleb's progress after a recent spinal surgery to alleviate the effects of his cerebral palsy.

Sounds like a busy day but you make it look like fun. I love seeing twins interact with each other. it’s so funny to think that they have a built in buddy all day every day – siblings are amazing 🙂
